Terraform Training - Learn IaC (Infrastructure As Code) Through Terraform
This course will teach you how to automate infrastructure with Terraform by using IaC or Infrastructure as Code.

additional hints includes hands-on labs along with a quick-win lab that teaches you how Terraform is able to move resources quickly into the cloud. We will also assist you to develop the necessary skills to take the HashiCorp certified Terraform Associate exam.

Terraform A Brief Introduction

Terraform is a cloud-based automation tool created to help you create and manage your cloud infrastructure without using commands or an interface. With extensive documentation and examples, as and a vast public registry of providers for typical scenarios for provisioning, Terraform makes life easy in managing cloud environments.

This course is designed to teach Terraform fundamentals, such as how to deploy and configure infrastructure. The course is self-paced and includes assignments, videos-free learning and hands-on experiences using AWS resources.

Terraform's foundation lies within its configuration file, which serves as an end state description of your infrastructure. This user-defined, declarative declaration is created individually or as a set of multiple files.

Terraform provides a plan of execution after you've setup your system. It will then request your approval to initiate changes in your infrastructure. This allows you to examine changes prior to when they go live and helps you avoid errors and uncertainty.

Configuration Management

Configuration management is an integral part of IT infrastructure. It offers an opportunity to keep track of the modifications to an application or the infrastructure throughout its lifespan and install correctly with rollback functionality in case any errors arise.

In the last couple of years, numerous configuration management tools have been developed, including Ansible. Chef, Puppet, and SaltStack.

Terraform, an Infrastructure as Code tool (IAC), automates the deployment and management of cloud resources. Terraform's predictable, repeatable and reliable resource-management behaviors allow users to create and deploy reusable architectures.

Terraform provides users with the ability to specify the desired final state. It then decides on how to best reach this state. Terraform creates and reuses complex resources by using modules. Users are able to define these modules, or get the modules via Terraform Registry's central repository.

Deployment

Terraform is a tool that makes creating, managing, and deploying infrastructure-as-code easier. It supports hybrid and multi-cloud configurations.

Terraform is a fast-growing infrastructure to help test, production and quality assurance environments. This lets you reduce costs and ensure consistency across applications.

Terraform configurations files are used to define the desired layout of your infrastructure. They can be easily updated as necessary. The files also list the plug-ins, providers, and providers that are required to connect to a cloud service.

Terraform helps reduce configuration drift by performing the checking of its configuration file for each resource it develops and alters. This ensures infrastructure conforms to the information contained in the configuration file.

Terraform can support 100 cloud providers. These include AWS, Azure, and GCP. Custom providers can also be added.

Monitoring

Terraform provides an infrastructure-as-code approach for managing cloud environments. This makes it easy to write configuration files, and managing versions is simplified.

Applications' configurations are easily transferred between different environments. This allows them to be implementation at every stage, from development to hardening and finally production. It lets users adapt quickly to changing resource needs without having to complete re-configuration of their infrastructure.

Dynatrace integration provides Terraform developers with the ability to monitor code-level activity from one CLI. They can access dashboards and reports, which are deployed with the help of services or containers when they become available.

In this example we'll make a monitoring system to conduct NodePing checks on each host where NodePing is installed and will notify us when a host is offline. Even though the setup procedure is easy, you should keep it current and running to avoid being surprised in the event of unexpected failure.
