Evil Dead Rise full movie can also become an active member of their Patreon, The Rewind, for hilariously irreverent commentaries (e.g. the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Gremlins, Darkman), one-off deep dives into your favorite rentals (e.g. Saw, 28 Days Later, Manhunter, Near Dark) as well as topical spinoffs such as their sequel Fortune & Glory: An Indiana Jones Podcast.

I find myself loving my personal pick for the best horror film ever the film from 1981, The Evil Dead, more and more each time I see it. This is the case for the sequels (Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness) and soft reboots from 2013 which I do not really view as a pure remake, but I would consider it as one of the best remakes of horror movies in the event that I were to. I am also noticing something new in this series of gory, intensely violent and sometimes humorous stories of demonic possession each new viewing.

Rewatching the first four Evil Dead movies in preparation for the soon-to-be released 5th installment Evil Dead Rise -- the one film I'm looking forward to the most -- was not an exception. How about you primitive screwheads take a moment to read this overview of the cool things that popped out at me as I revisited one of the best horror film franchises of all time? Let's start from the beginning.

Some might be quick to write off The Evil Dead as just another cabin in the woods film, however a deeper analysis of the scary iconic classic shows just how intricate director and writer Sam Raimi's screenplay really is. Consider, for instance the film's inventive use of foreshadowing, an element of the storytelling which I am ashamed to admit was not apparent to me until this most recent review. I am awed by the way the film hinds at Cheryl Williams' (Ellen Sandweiss) destiny when she observes the door to the cellar opening and closing at will early in or when her brother Ash (Bruce Campbell in the role that made him a great horror movie iconic), finds a drawing within the Necronomicon that resembles the book when it "comes to life" at the very end.

It is not that I've never noticed the flow of blood from the possessed Scotty's (Richard DeManincor, who is credited with the role of Hal Delrich) stomach wound like a faucet up to now. However, this was the first time that I actually focused on it. It seems like I was mesmerized by the image of blood that has an equivocation to cherries Kool-Aid instead of dyed corn syrup and I'm convinced that I recognize its uniqueness more than I ever have even though the blood looks more medically accurate in the other parts of the series.

Another shot from the visceral final scene of The Evil Dead that has always amazed me is when arms explosively emerge into Cheryl and Scotty's defeated Deadite themselves. For years, I just assumed that this was another example of the extraordinary visual skills of director Sam Raimi however, it dawned on me on this rewatch that these are demon arms and specifically, those of the demons who possessed Ash's companions. Have you ever seen anything so terrifyingly bizarre in a supernatural horror film featuring demonic possession such as for instance The Exorcist? I think not.
