Artificial intelligence in Education: Disadvantages
According to Ruby Singh (2022) Artificial intelligence has been around for a long time now, and it is becoming more pervasive in our lives. Some disadvantages should be considered before the implementation of these technologies becomes commonplace across the country.
One negative aspect is that because they don't interact with real people during class, students are unable to practice and learn social skills. When they graduate from high school and need these kinds of interactions for their jobs or even just social interactions as adults, it becomes difficult for them. However, this technology shouldn't completely replace teachers because they bring something more than just knowledge. AI has only recently been used as a tool outside conversation with other humans or simply interacting with another person through human contact. While AI cannot teach these important parts of success at all, they give students the chance to learn social skills like empathy and communication that will help them succeed after school. Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to become addictive. In the field of education, in particular, the rise of AI has been accompanied by concerns that automated learning platforms might eventually completely replace human teachers in some settings due to their efficiency in educating students and providing individualized instruction. Data issues are one of artificial intelligence's disadvantages in education. It's impossible to predict every way a student will learn, and it's challenging for teachers to come up with a single algorithm that will work for everyone. There are many down sides to artificial intelligence in education, but the biggest is that there would be a huge communication gap between teachers and students if robots were used as part-time instructors during school hours rather than people because they couldn't interact socially with each other like people could. The use of artificial intelligence in schools has various impacts. The main one is that it reduces students' ability to think critically and increases their reliance on technology rather than teaching them how to complete tasks independently. They contend that by making it simpler and more convenient for those who don't want to put effort into their studies, technology may promote laziness among students.
