There's a definite charm to this 3DS download; players are flat 2D sprites which trundle purposefully around the pitch, and they're all given a surprisingly diverse selection of animations. You'll see them scream in rage at a goalkeeper, or tear up at a referee's decision, and these are all captured with a sense of realism that you rarely find in more casual soccer management titles.

Although this game's visual style is more akin to mobile releases like Kairosoft's addictive bite-sized titles, it still remains incredibly charming and has a timeless appeal. As with any management title, it takes a while to build up your squad; if you're willing to spend a few hours watching unskippable matches and observing the training cards that are awarded after each match, then this is a fun and involving experience which will be difficult to put down.
