Manson has the reputation of making his music sound chaotic, with a lot of guitars. However, Heaven Upside Down is an album you'll enjoy listening to.
Marilyn Manson - The 5000 Fingers
In his latest release, the controversial rocker finally accepts himself. Born Villain is an impressively varied collection that digs deeper than past albums' lurid bravado. Manson’s trademark pulsing industrial sound and foreboding atmosphere are still evident, as is the nimble mixture of blues and rock.
"Revelation #12", the first single from this album, is a musical assault that you'll love. It is cyclical with a dizzying chorus. Even a short clip of sirens is included in the middle. This adds to the sense of unease that you feel right from the beginning.
The style of 'Saturnalia’ is similar to that used by Manson on his previous SAY10 songs. This is a much more subdued and calmer track, which lays the groundwork of what's to follow.
It's a slower track with some more female vocals to add to the noise Manson has created. A guitar solo is also included. In the first minute the distorted feedback of the guitar and the echoing percussion are swirling in circles. However, once they become focused, this track takes off with the screamed-choruses we have all come to love from Manson.
After a brief break, the band returns with a more aggressive track. The tune is very catchy and fun, with Manson playing off the vocal melodies as well as the sounds of the band.
I regret that he never used this single as a marketing tool for the album. It's a great way to get started if your still unsure if this record is for you. marilynmansonmerch 's a lot more streamlined, and less extreme than Revelation #12, yet the screamed-choruses still deliver the same excitement.
