Here's some good news on NFTs! Mojang has put out new guidelines on the rules surrounding NFTs and blockchain.
There are many scams out in the world of NFTs, especially when it comes to companies using "blockchain" when they don't need it. Thankfully, Mojang have listened and set out some rules and the gist is that "integrations of NFTs in Minecraft are generally not something we will support or allow" they stated.

Their latest news article provides an overview of what NFTs actually are and giving a brief overview of why they have rules for server owners as well as content creators, which in brief is to "ensure that Minecraft remains a community where everyone has access to the same content". One of the issues is that NFTs "create models of scarcity and exclusion that conflict with our Guidelines and the nature of Minecraft".
Mojang make their position firmly explicit about it, declaring that "As as a result to ensure that Minecraft players have a secure and inclusive experience, blockchain technology is not allowed to be integrated into our Minecraft client or server applications, nor can they be used to create NFTs with any game-related content, including worlds, persona items, skins or other mods. ".
This is good, because it could prevent another Blockverse, which was supposed to be a "on-chain Ethereum NFT that enables a unique P2E on Minecraft". Can you guess how it went? They took lots of money, and then disappeared with it.
However they're not ruling out the possibility of using blockchain in Minecraft if it might "allow for more secure experiences or other practical and inclusive applications in gaming" however, they have no plans to use it as of right now.
