Sing the Sorrow

Sing the Sorrow has been regarded as one the greatest albums ever released, even though it was released over a ten-year period ago. The album was produced by Butch Vig, a Nirvana member and Jerry Finn (Nevermind Tiger Army). It was AFI's first mainstream success and helped them rebrand as the Bon Jovis of emo.

Sing the Sorrow represented not only a significant turning point for AFI, but also an evolution in the sound. Black Sails in Sunset slowed down the punk sound and added more melody.

AFI continues to expand their fanbase and reach a larger audience through Sing the Sorrow. The singles Girl's Not Grey," The Leaving Song Pt. It was a big hit, and both hardcore and goth fans could sing along thanks to Davey Havok’s unique vocals.
Drowning: The Art of Drowning

The Art of Drowning is an excellent album that stands apart for its cleverly produced sound and Davey Havok’s better singing skills. The album shows off the band's appreciation for the punk rock genre and their newfound ability to put a unique spin on it.

Decemberunderground

AFI first released Decemberunderground in 2009. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and went Platinum.

It is true that this album might not be as good, but it is a solid record. AFI Pillows will stay with you for a long time and make you feel emotionally charged. Davey Havok wrote more atmospheric and story-telling lyrics.

This album has no sing-screamers, but it is full of catchy and upbeat pop songs. The lead single "Miss Murder," has a glam/pop beat and Green Day-esque drum fills. It also features some "Hey!"s.
Dancing Through The Sunday

AFI had the chutzpah to be a big band. Imagine their heyday as they snuck into a packed-out concert and snuck out before you said sex. AFI's modesty did not stop them from producing one of modern music's most underrated, and underappreciated, albums. They made a number of fans feel appreciated and the fun never ended. The best thing is that the band is still alive today, thanks in part to some clever fans who have learned how to participate.
Girl's No Grey

AFI's Girl's Not Grey - one of the earliest emo crossovers - was AFI's biggest hit. Havok’s chanting vocals along with the driving riff, and Havok’s anthemic "What Follows!" brought Girl's not Grey to a new level of mainstream popularity that no AFI song before it had attained. It's an excellent example of AFI at its best: fast and hateful rock with an infectious chorus. It was one of the first AFI songs I've ever seen live. And it was a real treat to see this song performed in Los Angeles.
