Brazilian Thrash Metal Act Sepultura Review: Roots
BrazilaEURTMs biggest export is probably Brazilian metal legends Sepultura. The band has toured the globe and played in front of large crowds. sepultura merch has been forced to search for new members after the departure of founding brothers Max Cavalera. Their talent and commitment have not slowed their progress.

Sepultura began in 1983. They were among the first Brazilian metal groups to make a big impact in Europe, and America. Although the band lineup has changed over the years it still remains true to their sound.

It is still going strong after thirteen albums. The current line-up features guitarist Andreas Kisser with vocalist Derrick Green along with drummer Eloy Housegrande and Bassist JoaoCarvalho.

With the release "Arise", the band proved that they weren't afraid to experiment with new sounds and elements without losing what made them different. 'Arise" was a brilliant thrash metal album, with all the energy and force of Slayer's Reign In Blood but with a twist.

For those who've seen them live they have the reputation of being extremely tight on stage. They have always performed their songs relentlessly and with brutality. After the addition Derrick Green to the guitar and vocals, their ability to play at such a level hasn't diminished. They have an amazing presence live and you can sense them working hard.

Derrick Green is the new bassist for the band and he has brought the groove into the mix. The band's previous album 'Arise 'was more technical and had a more aggressive feel. 'Roots 'is a lot more Groove oriented, but still maintains the intensity of their early work.

This album is the perfect example of a band adapting to their new musical direction, without changing what made them successful. If you're a fan of heavy metal this is for you. The production is crisp, and the songs fast and furious. But it doesn't go overboard. Instead they made a very thought-out and structured album full of excellent songs.

It's not the best Thrash Metal, and it could be improved. However, this record stands up to Slayer 'Reign in blood'. The riffs and tempo are high, but some songs also feature a bit of melody.

The band will perform in Auckland tomorrow, and you can expect a great performance. The crowd is expected to be vocal and the show will surely leave them wanting more.
