Even if each such gadget were to cost one thousand dollars - and that's pushing it, since GPS systems cost only a couple of hundred dollars each - since only 17 million or so cars are sold in america every year, it could mean an annual US expenditure of only $17 billion, which, weighed against the $240 billion that road accidents cost the American economy each year, is close to nothing.
