Union Pacific Cancer Cluster
The Union Pacific Rail Yard, northeast of Houston, is contaminated by the chemical linked with a cancer cluster. The chemicals are creosote and dioxin.
A study revealed that the groundwater and the soil around the railyard were contaminated with large amounts of the toxic substances. Researchers have discovered that the affected residents are diagnosed with prostate, skin, and bile duct cancers. It is a type of liver cancer.
Creosote
