A man was running, his breaths coming in ragged gasps as he fled through the darkened streets. His heart pounded in his chest as he glanced over his shoulder, the sound of footsteps echoing in his ears. It seemed as though his life depended on his ability to outrun his pursuers. Suddenly, a voice called out from behind him. "He's over here!" The man's heart sank as he realized that he had been caught. He turned to face his pursuers, bracing himself for whatever was to come. The man froze as he heard the command. "Hands in the air!" The PHC had finally caught up to him. In 2039, scientists had discovered a strand of DNA that caused certain humans to possess mysterious powers. These individuals were considered illegal and were hunted down by the PHC. The man knew that if he was caught, he would be sent to the Phoenix Holding Center, a place where people like him were imprisoned. He slowly raised his hands, resigned to his fate. "Mr. Mark Crawford, you are under arrest for being a Norvorid," the PHC officer said, his voice cold and unyielding. Mark's heart sank as he realized that his worst fears had come true. He had been discovered and there was no escaping the consequences. As Mark was being handcuffed, he couldn't help but feel a sense of despair. He knew that he would be taken away from his family and friends, and that he might never see them again. He looked down at his green jumper and jeans, wondering if this would be the last time he would ever wear them. Mark was blindfolded and taken inside a van, unsure of what awaited him at the Phoenix Holding Center. He could feel the van moving as it made its way to the facility, the sound of the road a constant hum in his ears. He tried to stay calm, but his heart was pounding in his chest as he wondered what the future held for him. Mark was given a PHC uniform upon arrival and was taken to a cell. Mark met Flynn Cooper in his cell. Flynn introduced himself to Mark and they started talking. ''So, what are your powers?'' asked Mark. Flynn replied, "I have the ability to control the temperature around me. What about you, Mark?" ''I have the power of immortality, pretty basic, I know.'' "That's really interesting, Mark. How did you discover that you have the power of immortality?" asked Flynn.
