Galactic Republic
A senate with a member from each solar-system. Led by the first consul and the second and third, his deputies. With a Galactic Court over a system of other courts and magistrates. Praetors (low) and Quaestors (high) are given the power to raise funds and troops to investigate corporations and gov. projects.

Each solar-system has a Governor and its own senate, these can form various alliences accross many stars. Many controled by political dynasties.

They are connected by star ships with warp drives at a rating of 10 to 1. Slowest to fastest. Merchant/Passenger ships to Command/Consul ships.

While each system has its own military, the military of the Republic:(The Navy/Marines, Special Operations Command, Security and Investigation, Guards.)

Spec Ops created a group of psychics and quickly lost control of them. They can manipulate objects and the minds of other with their power. They gather into 3 main groups: The Organization, directly under the Spec Ops; The New Order, renegades seeking to expand their own powers; and Knights, semi-independent orders working for peace and protecting normal citizens.

Almost every system has tariffs and taxes for ships entering the system making smuggling very lucrative. Bounties are everywhere by individuals, systems, and republic institutions.

Fueds between dynasties and factions are common. Corporations, Estates, System Governments, criminal organizations, and private militaries are the battle grounds.
