Seperti namanya, Calming Draught berarti digunakan untuk menenangkan. Biasanya, ramuan ini digunakan untuk menenangkan orang yang baru saja menderita shock, trauma, atau ledakan emosi. Ramuan ini akan membuat rileks pikiran dan tubuh sang peminum untuk beberapa saat saja. Ramuan ini hanya boleh diminum dalam satu porsi saat satu waktu, jika berlebihan akan berakibat tertidur selama seminggu penuh. Madam Pomfrey pernah memberikan ramuan ini kepada Hannah Abbot pada saat pelajaran Herbology karna Ia terlalu frustasi saat mengerjakan ujiannya.
Bahan - bahan
- Lima cangkir air
- Satu Jumput Scurvy-Grass
- Satu cangkir moonstone
- Tiga Tetes Belladonna
- 1/4 tumbukan akar jahe
- Peppermint
Cara membuat:
1. tambahkan air kedalam kuali yang yang berada diatas api panas lalu didihkan.
2. Campurkan Moonstone, aduk sampai larut.
3. tambahkan tumbukan akar jahe, Satu jumput Scurvy-Grass dan Peppermint.
4. Kecilkan api lalu biarkan mendidih selama 30menit, aduk setiap 10menit sekali.
5. Tambahkan belladonna hingga ramuan berwarna kuning cerah. Ingat ya, harus berwarna kuning cerah.
6. Angkat kuali dari api lalu biarkan terbuka selama 15menit.
7. Jika sudah 15 menit, ramuan pun dianggap selesai.
* ramuan dibagi menjadi lima botol ramuan untuk disimpan di sebuah ruangan ber-temperatur.
* Ramuan harus berwarna kuning terang, warna selain itu maka ramuan dianggap gagal.
*Ramuan ini hanya bisa disimpan di ruangan ber-temperatur selama 6 bulan. setelah 6 bulan ramuan ini harus segera dibuang untuk menghindari efek samping yang tak diinginkan.
