A Child Seizure Alarm
There are a number of non-invasive monitors and alarms available to help people with epilepsy. These devices monitor movements to look for a certain type of shaking that's a sign of seizures, then send alerts to family members and caregivers so they can help.
NightWatch and Sleepmonitor
These are nocturnal (night time) monitoring systems that work to detect unusual body movement during sleep. Epilepsy Alarms If a seizure is detected, an alarm sounds and the device records video footage that's sent to a smart phone.
Motion detecting sensors and cameras that look for sudden, unusual shaking of the arms, legs, or other parts of the body. When they detect activity that could be a seizure, they send an alarm to a caregiver's cell phone.
Sensors that are worn on the wrist or ankle. These are designed to look for a few seconds of repetitive, shaking movement similar to the movement of a tonic-clonic seizure.
Anti-suffocation pillow
These special pillows are designed with air channels to help keep your child safe if they have a seizure and end up face-down. They also have a button that activates an emergency call.
Seizure response dog
A seizure response dog is specially trained to detect an oncoming seizure and to give a warning so that a carer or partner can take action to keep your child safe. They are typically able to be at the site of an oncoming seizure an hour before it happens, giving a carer time to get help.
