It was a prison sentence which forced him to look at his life and how he lived it.
Rod Wave found a stable and fulfilling career after escaping prison. Since then, he's released several hits like "Heart on Ice" which reached the Billboard Hot 100's top 50. His debut album, "Ghetto Gospel," was also a huge hit and charted on the Billboard 200. Additionally, he has been featured on TikTok as well as YouTube in which his songs have gone viral.
Rod Wave released his upcoming second album "Pray 4 Love" in 2019. Rod Wave decided not to utilize guest artists to boost his sales. Instead, he wanted to showcase his ability as a singer-songwriter by telling a tale of his own challenges and how they shaped who he is today.

Rod Wave grew up in a tough environment, but he has always been determined to make it from his plight.
