The data collected using the Google Form questionnaire in this qualitative research will be analyzed using thematic analysis. Thematic analysis is a qualitative data analysis method that seeks to identify and analyze patterns, themes, and issues that emerge from the data. This process involves systematically organizing and categorizing the data based on themes, concepts, and ideas that arise from the responses of the participants. In this study, the themes will be identified by reviewing the responses of the participants to the open-ended questions on the questionnaire. The thematic analysis will consist of several steps including data familiarization, generating initial codes, searching for themes, reviewing and defining themes, and providing a rich interpretation of the data. Data familiarization involves reading through the responses of the respondents to gain an understanding of the information collected. Initial codes will be generated by reviewing the responses of the participants and identifying patterns and themes that emerge from their stories.
The next step of the data analysis process involves searching for themes and reviewing and defining them. This phase aims to identify patterns and themes from the data, and the researcher will group the codes into broader themes. The final step is providing a rich interpretation of the data, which involves providing a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the identified themes. This interpretation will help uncover new insights and perspectives on the experiences of teenage pregnancy among the study participants.
The use of thematic analysis in this study will provide an in-depth and rich understanding of the experiences of teenage pregnancy among the participants while attending high school. It will enable the researcher to identify common themes and patterns in the experiences of the participants, which can inform better interventions to support teenage mothers and improve their academic outcomes.
