At their sold-out show at the Apollo Theater in New York City The frontman Anthony Kiedis and bandmates Flea and Chad Smith pounded out a set list that was spread across their huge catalogue. Luckily they Peppers did not abandon their hits however, they also showed their fans a few deep cuts and newer songs.

In between, the group played with the crowd and joked about how their music was different from the norm and sharing stories about their experiences on the road. It was a nice touch that seemed to underline the idea that, despite all the years, the band is still a group of people who hail from Los Angeles who love to play music and connect with their followers.


The excitement was evident. It was the first time John Frusciante, the original guitarist for the group, had joined the group in over three years. The crowd was eager to hear the new songs, and equally excited to watch the experienced veterans take to the stage onstage. The concert was great and is a good sign for the future performances by the band. The Peppers have clearly gotten back on track following several rough times.
