They were not the first fighters to achieve this, but they remained the most notable due to their political and racial beliefs as well as their confidence radiating off the ring. They developed an inner strength that was unbeatable.
This is an excellent example of how sports can impact society. These champions were more than just strong boxers, they represented change in a nation that desperately needed it.
