Download the SVG file and open it using your cutting machine or design program. Check that your paper is loaded, and set to the right setting (glitter or thicker cardstock, for example) and then follow the prompts to begin your cut. Be sure to inspect your mat regularly for any small pieces of paper that could have gotten stuck. This will stop your paper from splitting and provide cutting the highest quality. Once your project is finished take the paper off and then use a scraper to scrape the remaining pieces.
The project will take some time, but is extremely satisfying when completed. This would be an excellent activity to play with your children, as they can observe the layers coming together. The final result is a gorgeous 3D paper Butterfly which can be hung on your walls or glued to your handmade gift tags or cards.
Begin to assemble the butterfly by gluing the middle pieces first, placing the smaller pieces and finally the wings. Allow the glue to set for a couple of minutes after all the pieces are joined. Then just simply fold up the wings and you're done!
