California Tech death aliens from California Rings Of Saturn are a unique and interesting take on the metal genre. The Death metal band's high-tech style has been jokingly called "aliencore," a term I believe to be quite accurate. Their music is fast violent, brutal and alien. They have also used sci-fi themes in their songs, and produced otherworldly sounds.
The group was founded as an high school studio recording project. They recorded their debut album Embryonicanomaly with producer Bob Swanson in Mayhemnness Studio in Sacramento, CA. After the huge success of this debut album, the group gained popularity and was were signed to Unique Leader Records in the fall of. The new group consisted of Joel Omans, Brent Silletto Brent Silletak, Joel Omans and guitarist Lucas Mann. The band has been performing heavily with this new lineup to promote Dingir, their 2012 second album.
The sound of the band was refined and they began to display their full potential as a band with the release Lugal Ki En in 2014. They ditched their slower, chugging breaks and elevated their sound to the next level. This is their most impressive album to date, featuring fast riffing and added harmony effects. Also, it has some djent elements, a strange feel, and a djent sound.
This band is an absolute must-listen for anyone who is a fan of shred sessions, or bands such as Beneath The Massacre and Obscura. The band takes a distinctive style of music, and definitely worth listening.
