Start off with the addition of your name and choosing your car at the main screen. You can choose to customize your car if you wish, but it's not neccesary. Chose your region, then click Play. Once the game loads you will be in a small area with a lot of other players. Utilize the arrow keys to control your kart and press the space key to use your power-up. To gain power-ups, you have to drive through the floating ballons, but watch out for gift packages because those aren't the packages you want.
