The Wonder Years Merch Review - The Hum Goes On Forever
The Wonder Years is one of the most popular groups in their music genre. The Wonder Years are a band with a catalogue of pop punk and emo that is unbeatable. They've never really been ones to settle for a stalemate also, constantly pushing themselves into new areas, experimenting with their broad capabilities and accepting the more experimental parts of their sound with fantastic results. The album they released last year, The Hum Goes On Forever is a fantastic example of this.





The album crosses the line between their traditional sound and a more ambitious release that sees them branching out to some fairly extreme territory with regards to their lyrics. Dan "Soupy Campbell" is not afraid to throw his heart on the line in a way that creates a narrative that screams from every corner. This is an aspect of the band which has always been there and works well. This release has a grand scale, making you feel as if you're watching a story unfold in mere minutes. thewonderyearsmerch is all thanks to the amazing blend of instruments and sounds The Wonder Years utilise on this album.





Throughout, there are some hints of what found on Sister Cities and a few other highlights from their back catalog that make this an uplifting emotional experience. It's not a patch on their best work however, it's still an excellent album and deserves to be heard in full.





One of the major elements of this album is that it's a more mature album compared to previous releases from The Wonder Years. It's a risky move for bands that are moving towards the senior stage However, The Wonder Years have done it with grace. They have managed to keep their stellar track record without stalling completely. This is partly due to the fact that they don't revisit the same ground with the same fervor that they did in the past. Themes will come back but they don't ever feel like they're just rehashing their work.





The Hum Goes On Forever has a few tracks that are guaranteed to delight fans for years to come. The title track oozes emotion and the chorus will be a hit with fans all over the world singing along with joy, among other highlights are the sad, bleary toned slumber of Laura & The Beehive and the re-run of themes of Oldest Daughter and the wistful glimpse of the city's streets of Cardinals II. The Wonder Years have proven that they're still able to appeal to new audiences with their relatable tales of heartbreak, hope and loss. The album should be heard, and it will leave listeners feeling as if they were part of.
