Freddy Krueger is the iconic film villain from the horror genre who has been slashing at the dreams of millions of people since 1984. He enters the dreams of his victims, frightens them and then kills them with the most horrific methods possible. He has become an icon in the horror genre, and popular with fans in costume cosplay as well as Halloween costumes.
Wes Craven had an idea of the character in his mind when he first wrote the draft of A Nightmare on Elm Street. He envisioned an entirely different type of slasher film villain from his peers, such as Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees. freddykruegercostume wanted a character who could convey pure evil through his appearance and behavior, instead of using words or weapons.
To achieve this goal, Craven worked with makeup artist David Miller. They worked together to create a disfigured character that would be both gruesome and memorable. Freddy was designed to be grotesque and had a strange appearance. The idea was to make his face melt and leave flesh flowing through his cheeks and leaving his jaw exposed. They realized that it was difficult to achieve this effect on a human.
They settled on a classic-looking Freddy, who was scarred and burned but still recognizable. The character was designed to be an ominous slayer, wearing his trademark fedora. The unique weapon of the character that was the claw gloves made him stand apart from other slasher-style villains. The glove resembled a boiler mitt and had blades that rotated when the wearer moved their fingers.
The outfit was completed when it was paired with a worn out sweater that showed pieces of burned latex flesh. The fedora fit the look perfectly. This costume is a great option to portray this legendary nightmare killer for your next movie outing.
