On Link , 1916, the world was graced with the birth of John Gerald Hamm in St. Louis, Missouri. Better known by his pseudonym Jack, he became a renowned cartoonist and author for his contributions to the comic strip, "Children's Images".
During the 1930s, Hamm kickstarted his career as an animator with Walt Disney Studios. After the 1940s, he moved on to chase his dream of creating comics and soon after that, around the early 1950s, produced "Children's Images". Initially, the syndication of this piece was carried out by the Chicago Tribune-New York News Syndicate, but it eventually was acquired by King Features Syndicate.
"Children's Images" was widely admired, and as a result, Hamm's efforts were recognized through various accolades. Beyond the strip which provided him with fame, Hamm also creatively wrote and illustrated books for younger readers.
After a lengthy tenure at “Children’s Images”, Hamm stepped away from his career in the early 80s. Ultimately, his life journey concluded in 2002.
