There's nothing as satisfying as running through the woods and shooting Halo. Halo Infinite does an excellent job at capturing the joy of flying over pine-shaded landscapes with your jeep and three snipers in the back. The story, unfortunately, does not quite live up to the excitement of hexaholics and a frenzied reliance on the boring language and god bless our troops attitude of the franchise.
The story does a great job of cutting down on the overindulgence of previous Halos, but it's still clunky and replete with flashbacks. It continues to be a mess with the character Master Chief trying to make him human. a faceless cypher that is ultimately inhuman.
