Since the very premiere episode of HBO's Game Of Thrones aired, the series has entertained and enthralled viewers with its heartbreaking deaths, thrilling romances, and of course, numerous iconic costumes. Now that the series is coming to an end, there's a better moment to celebrate the frocks and wigs that were worn by your favorite Starks, Lannisters, Targaryens and more than a few of the villains from Westeros. To help you plan your perfect Halloween costumes Here are some of the most coveted costumes from the show's eight seasons.


Michele Clapton, the costume designer, was responsible for more than 100 costumes during the course of the show. It took a group to bring her sketches to life, including embroiderers, leather workers dyers and printers. The fabric, style and colors that were used in each outfit were chosen with care to give an even deeper significance to the story. The amount of detail that went into an outfit with only 2 to 5 minutes of screen time is truly incredible and understanding why Clapton made her own costumes is a fascinating glimpse into the making of the show.



One of my personal favorite scenes of the series was Sansa's coronation dress featuring an apron and frock that are covered with weirwood branches to represent Winterfell, fish scales to symbolize her Tully family heritage as well as an embroidered wolf neckguard to show her family's loyalty to House Stark. The dress traces the development of a character's growth from an innocent teenager to a strong, confident young woman. It was a wonderful final way to tell her story.


Daenerys' wardrobe has also evolved throughout the show. She went from wearing Dothraki inspired clothing to more elegant outfits when she began her reign in Meereen. Her final attire that she wears when speaking to the Unsullied, is an amazing display of her power. The blue dress is akin to her mother's robe. Additionally, the metal collar gives a visual effect that is reminiscent of her fight against the slave owners.

The Daughter Of The Dragon has stunning outfits too I am in love with the burgundy Maxi. You can easily create this look by using clothes found in your closet, along with a wig. The top features lace detailing as well as the belt, which is made of velvet.


Arya is the star of the show and what better way to celebrate her than to dress as her for Halloween? A striped shirt with long sleeves as well as a leather vest that you picked up from a shop along with black pants and faux-fur clothing make this costume simple to make. Put on a brown hairpiece, and some face-paint for the appearance of the protagonist from the series.
