From the time the premiere episode of HBO's Game Of Thrones aired, the show has captivated and awed viewers with its tragic deaths, thrilling romances, and of course, numerous iconic outfits. Now that the series is finally ending, there's no better moment to celebrate the wigs and dresses worn by your favourite Starks, Lannisters, Targaryens and more than few of the villains from Westeros. To help you design the perfect costume for Halloween We've put together a list of some of the most sought-after pieces from the eight seasons of the show.



Costume Designer Michele Clapton was responsible for creating over 100 different costumes across the entire run of the show, and it took a team of cutters, leather workers as well as printers, dyers and embroiderers to bring her designs from drawing to the screen. The materials, styles and colors that were used in each outfit were chosen with care to give more sense of the story. The quantity of detail that went into an outfit with only 2 to 5 minutes screen time is truly incredible and understanding why Clapton decided to design her own costumes is a fascinating view into the workings of the show.


Sansa's coronation attire was among my favorite gowns. It features a frock with a cape embellished with weirwood, which represents Winterfell and fish scales to represent her Tully family heritage. The wolf-themed embroidered collar guards her family's loyalty to House Stark. This dress represents the transformation of a character from young and naive to a confident and strong young woman. Daenerys is a different character who's wardrobe changed during the course of the series, shifting from Dothraki-inspired clothes to more luxurious attires after she established her rule in Meereen. Her final attire she wears as she is speaking to the Unsullied, is stunning display of her power. The blue outfit is akin to her mother's dress. Additionally, the metal collar gives a visual effect that echos her campaign against slave masters.


Cersei has a variety of stunning dresses that are perfect for Halloween. This red velvet dress from her Season Seven movie is among the most sought-after. The fabric and color evokes her ferocity, while the dragonscales and intricate details make it a perfect symbol of the power of her.


The Daughter Of The Dragon also offers some stunning outfits. This burgundy maxi is one of my top choices. You can easily make this look with items that you have in your closet, and the wig. The top is laces as well as the belt, which is velvet.


Arya Stark is the hero of the show, and there's no better way to honor her than to dress as her this Halloween. A striped shirt with long sleeves, a leather vest thrifted from a shop as well as black pants and faux-fur clothing make this simple costume easy to make. Add a brown wig as well as some face paint and you'll get the look of one of the most prominent characters from the entire show.
