In a bizarre twist of things, A.A. Milne's beloved storybook series about the sweet bear and his companions was taken out of copyright last year, opening the door to a talented filmmaker named Rhys Frase-Waterfield to make this bloodthirsty slice of Milne-sploitation. Pooh and his pals aren't the cute, loving characters we've grown to associate with from Disney animations (the Mouse House retains the rights to these) they look more like a slender beast-man. However, that's not enough to stop this horrible film from becoming a humiliatingly bad experience. Blood and Honey may not be the best movie ever, but it's pretty close. Even though the actors play to the slapstick humor but they're ultimately lost in the sand by the brutality.
