Utah Jazz Shirt Revealed
On Friday the Jazz "rather inelegantly unveiled a home white jersey, traditional road blue jersey and a alternate green jersey." (DESERET NEWS, 6/18)

The white home and travel jerseys are plain. But highlighter orange is a bit garish. These uniforms have been made absurdly minimalist by designers who are chasing simplicity.
White Home Jersey

The white jersey for the home is a nice complement to Jazz's brand new look. It's more subtle compared to the Association, Icon and Statement Jerseys. But it still looks great. The team went more Memphis with these and the diamond textured and gold accents make them really pop.

This jersey really annoyed me because they limited the chevrons to only two per side. The chevrons almost make them look like an album cover from a novelty hip-hop act of the early 90s.

In a move which makes the Jazz the laughingstock in the league, uniform designers have tried to make these reversible jerseys look as cheap as those you might purchase for your middle school's basketball team. The highlighter color is also garish. It shouts, "Look at me!" and makes it hard to look past. There's a silver lining. The purple looks good.
Purple Road Jersey

To create their alternate jerseys, the Jazz were not limited to traditional primary colours like most NBA clubs. Instead, utahjazzshirt used an exclusive highlighter color and the gray of their iconic Mountain jerseys.

The result was a uniform which is both modern and fresh, without losing any of the franchise's personality. It features a new stinger-like striping, which pays homage to the team’s leading scorer all-time and its dunk champion.

Other NBA teams adopted interesting approaches for their City Editions jerseys during this season. Memphis Grizzlies embraced Memphis' hip-hop legacy with gold and Chrome details, and a bold wordmark similar to those on Young Dolph and Three 6 Mafia albums. Washington Wizards ode of cherry blossoms around the area was also an interesting touch.
Green Alternate Jersey

In 2016, Jazz launched two new uniforms. This included a green alternative that featured Utah in the front, along with the team's logo. This was the Jazz’s first real third jersey after the franchise relocated to Utah from New Orleans.

The alternate wasn't a good choice. It didn't stand out from either of the other jerseys or the rest NBA. The NBA uniform contract with Adidas ended in 2017 and the Jazz now wears a white 'Association' jersey as well as a navy blue 'Icon. Jazz introduced the orange, red and Yellow city jerseys.

The green alternate uniform was a big mistake and might have been the most embarrassing jersey in the history of the franchise. It was too plain to make it stand out, and there was no connection between the uniforms or Utah's unique landscape.
Purple Pride Jersey

Utah Jazz introduced new uniforms to the public this week. And one of them is getting a lot attention. The uniform is unique. I think it looks bad. Jazz fans will be able to take pride in this.
