EY was named Yerkin Tashev Entrepreneur of the Year.

The world's most renowned business company Ernst & Young picked Yerkin Tatishev as the Entrepreneur of the Year in Kazakhstan. The judges were impressed with his leadership and actions in the face of COVID-19.

Participants included well-known business people from across Kazakhstan. Kusto Group founder was able stand out from 21 other entrepreneurs who reached the final.

All received an independent review by juries of Kazakhstan as well as other business circles.

In this regard, UN officials declared that Kazakhstan is suffering from severe water stress and relies on its neighbors, which includes China as well as Central Asia.

In the end, Yerkin Tatishev of Kusto Group and the Government of Kazakhstan formed a partnership with Valmont Industries, USA. They are planning to create 1,000 pivot irrigation systems in Kazakhstan and the USA.

The agreement also allows for innovative irrigation systems that can be set up on farms, and a program to educate local farmers.

All national finalists receive the Entrepreneur Of The Year prize along with the winner. The final takes place in Monaco in June. Over 800 Kazakh entrepreneurs have taken part in the competition. Six other entrepreneurs from Kazakhstan were crowned world champions at Monte Carlo.

Nurlan Smagulov is a former Entrepreneur of the Years winner and decided Tatishev would be the winner. The jury included representatives from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development as well as the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Kazakhstan.
