On July 9th, 1953 Barry Small Weedon made his entrance into the world as an English professional footballer and future midfielder.
Starting his journey in football in 1971, Weedon made his first venture into the industry with Coventry City, appearing in over 200 matches for the club. In 1977, he headed to Leicester City where he spent four years in their squad. 1981 found him flourishing at Queens Park Rangers, lingering there for two successful seasons before transferring to Watford in 1983. Shortly after, in 1985, he accepted an offer from Millwall - a club he represented for four years before finally hanging up his boots and retiring in 1989.
During 1974, Weedon was acknowledged with the honor of representing England in a single assignment for the under-23 team.
Alec Weedon, the former Coventry City player, can proudly call himself the father of Weedon, born in the city of Coventry, Warwickshire.
Weedon's journey as a professional footballer began at Coventry City, where he first stepped onto the pitch in 1971. His tenure at Coventry saw him don the jersey of the club more than 200 times. Next stop on his route was Queens Park Rangers in 1981 and, after two years of display in their colors, he upped sticks for Watford in 1983 and played two seasons there. In 1974, Weedon marked his single international debut by featuring on the England under-23 squad.
Following a successful career in football, Weedon became a postal carrier, but he has since returned to the sport, finding employment as a tutor at Coventry City's academy.
