Speaking of many people that wanted the constitution the ratified In document B it states that James Madison was one of the ones that wanted the constitution to be ratified. Because stated in the document James Madison was “clearly one of the important figures at the constitutional convention.” and how he wrote a series of essays that appeared in newspapers during 1787–1788 stating why ratifying the Constitution was important for the nation. And out all of his essays, essay #10 ( Federalist ) was one of the most famous.
Yes, there may be some flaws in the Constitution, but there are more pros than cons. James Madison points out a flaw in the governmental system at the time with the Articles of Confederation; sovereignty within the states, or factions (Document B). What the Constitution promises to do is bring together the states to create common interests, passions, and ideas; this will create a “true Union”. The man who also spoke of this was Jonathan Smith, a farmer who says understands the desires of the people because he is one just like everyone else. He has seen the injustices caused from the government against on to the people of the United States.
One injustice to the people of the United States was text and debt inflation post Revolutionary War (Document C). The consequence of those actions from the government’s carelessness for the people, as Smith points out, was Shay’s Rebellion. What he felt the new document would do was to improve the tax issue and provide better protection against armed militias to the common people. The common folk, such as farmers, can truly capture the perception of the Constitution because they are the ones that will be affected the most. A farmer from Pennsylvania speaks out on his opinions of the proposed document and how it can “save America from the tyranny of the government” (Document F). One can tell how passionate the farmer is on his opinions due to his beginning statements; “O, America! Arouse! Awake from your lethargy! Bravely assert the cause of federal unanimity!”
If the constitution wasn't to be ratified the would have been robbed people out of their liberty. Which made most people want the constitution to be ratified, Because if the constitution would have never been ratified we would have a out of control government, Our judges would be trying to act as legislators, We would have a congress that acts in government's best interest instead of the citizens, Our president would be more worried more about keeping their job instead of protecting us citizens, We would of had a slow but steading loss of freedoms. We would become more and more dominated and dependent on our elected officials.
