10 No-Fuss Strategies To Figuring The House Plant You're Looking For
Easy House Plants

A slim, slender plant with glossy leaves and contemporary pot makes a striking addition to a corner. It's easy to care for and is happy to be root bound, reducing the need for repotting.

It is important to ensure that plants are in harmony with lighting conditions. Avoid houseplants with drooping leaves or soil that is wet or has mushy roots as they may be beyond saving and may be a breeding ground for diseases.

Pothos

Pothos is also known as Devil's Ivy and Rapunzel Plant. It's one of the easiest plants to take care of. It thrives in dim to bright indirect light and is perfect to fill in dark spots in the room. It is tolerant of all conditions and can even withstand direct sunlight if it's not prolonged. However, if it is exposed to too much sun, it can get swollen and lose its variegation.

Pothos can be propagated by the cutting of a stem. Simply cut a length of the vine and remove two leaves down to 2"-3". Then, put it in a container of water. It will begin to grow roots very quickly. Be sure to change the water on a regular basis, usually every two weeks. It can be planted in either potting or water soil, and will root well in both. Once the root system is established (usually within 4 weeks), transfer it to a pot of regular potting soil for house plants.

Pothos, like all houseplants, needs an adequate general fertilizer for houseplants to ensure its health. Pothos doesn't require as frequent fertilization as other houseplants. It is sufficient to feed the plant once per month in spring and summer.

house plants for sale may turn brown and shriveled when placed in areas that are drafty or near radiators. Reposition the plant in a more brightly lit area of your home and fertilize it as normal.

A Pothos' leaves will tell you whether it needs to be watered. If the leaf edges are brown and dry, it's time to give it a drink. If the leaves begin to lose their shape, it's probably time to water it.

Epipremnum (Pothos), a variety of heart-shaped leaves available in green, white or yellow it is available. Popular varieties include 'Marble Queen with a striking white-and-green variegation, and 'Neon, with green leaves adorned with red and yellow markings.

Pothos can live for up to 10 years given the right conditions. Basic maintenance and good environmental care can help extend this lifespan. It is also extremely easy to propagate which makes it a good option for beginners who want to grow.

Monstera

Monstera deliciosa, also called the Swiss cheese plant and split-leaf Philodendron, is a well-loved indoor houseplant in temperate regions. It can also be grown outdoors in warm climates and is a very popular landscaping plant. It is a moderately shrewd plant, requiring only to be watered occasionally to keep the soil slightly moist.

The monstera, a member of the Dracaena family, is named after its strange-looking leaves that have an odd pattern of holes. It resembles Swiss cheese. These holes and lobes known as fenestrations appear on the leaves as they age. Monstera cultivars produce fruit in the wild, however it's difficult to get the plant to bear fruit under normal indoor conditions.

Monsteras are not tolerating cold temperatures, and will die if left out for longer than an hour. They prefer tropical temperatures that are similar to their native rainforest habitats. This makes them an excellent choice for a conservatory or any other spot with a sunny view that is cool enough to keep frost out and freezing.

Monsteras are a vine plant that make use of aerial roots to climb up the soil. In the wild, they usually attach themselves to rocks or trees after they have grown along the forest floor for a time. This is the reason why a lot of owners of plants attach a trellis in their pots once the plant grows.

The moss rod made from chicken wire or sphagnum that has been long-stranded will support the plants and allow them to climb instead of falling out of their pots. The pole will also help to deter pests such as sap-sucking mealybugs, aphids and tiny thrips that resemble cigars that can harm the leaves of the plant.

Repot the plant regularly and ensure it has plenty of indirect bright sunlight. It can tolerate some direct light however it shouldn't be placed in harsh sunlight from dawn to dusk. If exposed to the sun monstera can burn its leaves and even die.

ZZ Plant

Zamioculcas, also known as ZZ plant or the ZZ plant is one of the easiest plants to maintain. It's a great choice for darker spots in the house that other plants can't thrive in, as it can thrive in any light conditions except direct sunlight. ZZ plants can grow to the height of one metre, so they are ideal for larger pots and stands.

The ZZ plant is poisonous and should not be consumed by pets or children. Wear gloves when handling the plant because it can cause irritation to your skin. It is believed to cause cancer, however this hasn't been proved.

Like all succulents, ZZ plants are relatively easy to grow and take care of. They don't require a lot of moisture, but they must be watered thoroughly and the soil must dry between waterings. Overwatering can result in root rot, so it's best to be cautious and avoid watering.

They do best with an adsorbent, free-draining potting mix that has some added perlite or sand for better drainage. The plant isn't an instant grower and can be kept in the same pot for a long time. However, they will need to be replanted when they begin to poke their way through the soil.

Fertilize your plants during the growing season using the use of a liquid fertilizer which is half strength. In the warmer months, this is typically performed once or twice per month.

Examine for Aphids, as you would with any indoor plant. Be on the lookout for stems with spindly leaves that are long and leggy, and yellow patterns or spots on the leaves (see the image above). The leaves are also prone to rot and mold so don't ignore these warning signs and let them go out of control.

These plants require a little humidity, but they are suitable for most temperatures in the house. Misting the leaves regularly will keep them dust free not just for aesthetic reasons but to help them function as air purifying plants.

Kentia Palm

A stunning and easy-to-maintain tree The kentia palm (Howea forsteriana) is a favorite since the Victorian era and was a common house plant for many royal and aristocratic households. It can thrive in arid conditions, like air conditioning, central heating and low sunlight. It's also tolerant of neglect making it a great choice for beginners to garden.

Kentias prefer indirect, bright light and will accept a bit of shade, but it's best to keep them away from direct sunlight since this can cause the leaves to burn. They also dislike draughty spots so don't place them near windows that are frequently open and closed.

The kentia plant requires soil mixes that are rich in nutrients and well-draining. A mixture of peat, perlite, and potting soil will work well to create this soil mix. Plant your kentia in a container with drainage holes. Water the palm thoroughly once the compost's top centimetres are dry. Overwatering can cause root rot. It's also recommended to let the soil dry a bit before watering again.

You can trim the fronds of your kentia palm to keep its shape and remove dead leaves as they appear. Pruning must be done with care as removing too many fronds can cause damage to the trunk of the plant and leave it open to disease. If you decide to trim ensure that you employ shears with an edge that is smooth and remove the leaf bases at their base rather than forcing them away as this could leave permanent scarring.

A kentia palm is extremely susceptible to pests like spider mites, mealybugs, and scale insects. Regularly dusting the fronds with a cloth or sponge can prevent these issues from occurring. If they do, spray the plant with insecticidal oil or soap.
