On May 25th, Pusha T's long-awaited album 'Daytona' is expected to drop - kicking off the summer with an impressive blast! And, leading up to Link , the artist surprised his fans with a stunning promotional poster designed by superstar Kanye West. Captured within the image is a magnified Polaroid of the ill-fated singer Whitney Houston's tragically drug-filled bathroom.

Pusha T and Kanye West have faced criticism for a contentious image they created, with many accusing them of insensitivity. However, Pusha T has come forward to argue that the art actually highlights the exploitation of African-American women and should be seen as a commentary.

Daytona paints an aural picture of the drug trade from the point of view of a drug dealer, said Pusha T while speaking with Power 105.1. The album artwork was influenced by the documentary Cocaine Cowboys, encapsulating the dual faces of the artist himself – luxury and street, high-end and hustle. It is a vivid representation of his bifurcated background.

Pusha T spoke of the artwork as a mirror, exposing the 'dark underbelly' of the drug industry. He wanted to stay true to the harsh realities and lay bare the ugly truth about the corrupt nature of what he has witnessed.

His intents were not to shy away from the uneasiness and delight of Whitney Houston. He yearned to tap into both her trouble and talent and to provoke intense emotion - the essence of what art is all about.
