Wooden and metal are the two common materials used to make tack strips. Metal variations typically come in differing sizes and lengths, all equipped with varying quantities of tacks. 12-16 nails per strip is the usual range for the number of tacks provided.
For installation, finding the perfect width of your tack strip is essential. Opting for one slightly bigger than the width of your carpet is recommended - this approach will guarantee that the tack strip won't be visible beneath the fabulous floor covering.
Taking accurate measurements of the room's boundaries is the primary step in installing a tack strip. roofing nail coils should run around the perimeter of the area you wish to cover and must be placed level with precision.
Sizing it just right, the subsequent part of the procedure is to carve and shape the tack strip. To accomplish this task, it's recommended to utilize a saw or a power cutter.

Drive the nails into the floor at a 45-degree angle so that they're flush with the border of the strip. With the carpet having been laid, the last task is to attach the baseboard. Finishing nails are ideal to do this, and should be embedded into the wall with an angle of 45 degrees. Insert Twisted Nails in a way to where they evenly match with the plane of the baseboard.
