Lana Del Rey Wallet Card
She made her debut on the scene of music in Hollywood just a decade prior that caused a rapid reaction. Since then, she's swung between being a cultural reference point and a model of whiteness that is out of touch, and frequently, the discussions surrounding her work have been a distraction from the music. A new album has sparked controversy and the conversation has changed.



In the video she uploaded on her Instagram account, Del Rey explained that "she's not trying to offend anyone," but wanted to tell her story without restriction. Kehlani and Tinashe, as well as Roxane Gay have criticized her for the placement of the video in relation to a pandemic, as well as her inability to listen to criticism.


Although Lana Del Rey T-shirts has largely avoided controversial statements on her music, she's also used iconography that is too powerful for her to control. In a live setting the drama of Del Rey is different from the one she recorded on the record. Her soaring vocals are often drowned by thrashing guitars, and songs such as Born to Die, Cruel World and Blue Jeans were nearly destroyed due to the crowd's chanting. However, her soundscape of numbness is still thrilling, especially in the stifling A&W with piano arpeggios and subtle acoustics create an unsettling soundtrack to the story of sex addiction and self-medication.
