1.7 Being labelled as having a learning disability can have both positive and negative connotations. On the positive side: it is made clear that the individual may require additional support so then we can build on this and come together as a team in team meetings and speak with the social worker and voice in MDT meetings so we can then support the individual in the areas that need more attention. Another positive impact is that we can understand the individual more.

1.7 the negative impact as being labelled as having learning disability is that they will have low self-esteem once they are labelled. By having a negative label they also may doubt themselves, they may feel as if they are are intelligent or smart like other people and make them feel like they cant achieve any goals they wanted to.
