Unemployed Construction Workers Find Green Jobs
The economy is an ugly story that has gone on far too long. Unemployment brings the impact right down to real life level for many families. One of the areas hit the hardest is the construction business. During better times, the construction business provides jobs for an incredible number of men and women, but the burst bubble of real estate and available financing has left little light shining at the end of the tunnel because of this segment of society.

Like the poles of a magnet, every negative will need to have a positive. If that's the case, we must discover the positive side that we can survive and perhaps even thrive. Are there any positive left in the construction market? Some have noted that remodeling has gained in strength because people cannot sell their homes. Instead, they're more likely to remodel. Agreed, however the economy is crippling even this construction segment.

Looking over the landscape of miserable property news, I take notice the REOs (PROPERTY Owned) by banks have become exponentially as thousands upon thousands of homes go abandoned, foreclosed, and repossessed. Throughout every community, there are homes sitting idle, and that is worthy of note.

Note also that banks were the recipients of billions of stimulus money. They aren't hurting no matter what they claim. So, the second part of this puzzle is that people know that banks have money plus they can pay their bills.

Here's the third and most significant element to comprehend. These homes are liabilities! Everything from stagnant pools, broken pipes, squatters, and serious mold problems. During a recent tour of foreclosed homes, I saw more mold in homes than I can ever recall. This happens from unrepaired leaks, broken pipes, and unused ventilation systems. The problem is a whole lot worse in the south where warm and humid air is quite prevalent.

Let's put check here . You will find a completely new market in distress as tens of thousands homes are threatened. We've trained professionals who could answer this need with minimal training. Finally, the banks holding these REO includes a serious liability and the money to pay visitors to solve the problem. This can be a positive side of a negative issue as far as I am concerned.

I'd like to interject that homes with mold are "Toxic Health Concerns" as pointed out by the EPA. Mold is really a biohazard. And, since health may be the quintessential Green issue; what we have been talking about this is a modestly Green career choice. We know that various Green consultants will detoxify a house by replacing volatile cleaning chemical and other toxic products. Wouldn't mold removal belong to exactly the same genre? Obviously, we have been looking at a Green program when health is at risk, and there's a way to remove the risk.

Since mold removal requires focusing on the building, tearing out the infection, and replacing the infected areas with new material; a construction person is ideal. Therefore, there is only a need to get some mold training and adjust the business to home renovation and mold remediation. Training for a certified mold technician can be found online, and it is not rocket science. Most construction people will pick these up in short order, and they often have most of the equipment they need.

Where do you want to find work? This is easy so long as you have enough gumption to present yourself to any company or bank holding these vacant properties. There exists a need to inspect. maintain, and repair these homes until they are often sold.

Few have ever figured out where in fact the Green jobs are unless it is installing solar panels. Oftentimes, Green jobs are simply just doing what has been done before in a Green way. Janitorial services have cleaned businesses for a long time, but used toxic chemicals and poor practices. With some training and upgrading, they can be certified as a Green cleaning service.

Anyone looking for a Green job is going to be looking for a very long time. Remember that the vast majority of job creation is coming from the private entrepreneurial sector. If you prefer a Green job, change what you do to a Green service. It only requires some training and dedication to do things in an improved and smarter fashion. While home renovation and mold remediation might not have been your first choice, this can be a bright spot in a rather dark economy.
