Canadian Stage's Mission Is To Be The Leading Contemporary Performing Arts Group Within The Nation
This is the last of three interviews within the series, conducted by Fiona Raye Clarke. Canadian Stage sends its love to the household and friends of Daniel Brooks who passed away peacefully on Monday. A beloved artist at Canadian Stage, Daniel was most lately on stage in 2022 with Other People, a play that he wrote and performed in.

Throughout Kali’s profession she has documented these practices with a way of urgency, highlighting their very important cultural significance. I take pleasure in taking pictures of everyday landscapes, wildlife and activities from each handheld digital camera and UAV/drone views that provide the audience with a completely different view of something they've looked at their complete lives. I am driven to make photographs that elicit a reaction from viewers of awe and excitement as it is their first time seeing an everyday scene offered to them in an entire new method.
I am a member of the Wolf clan from the First Nation of Nacho in Mayo, Yukon, where I was born and raised. My ancestral background is Northern Tutchone, Hän and Gwich’in descent. We are taught by our elders to stay our tradition, or we are going to lose it. Through my own paintings and by way of my photography, I attempt to ensure that I can pass on the data and teachings by way of my art and thru photographs that I capture. Kali focuses on cultural revitalization via her art, whether or not in the medium of pictures, ceramics, beading, tanning hides or looking.
Our Artistic Director, Brendan Healy, shares some thoughts on his experience of working with Daniel on that present and on the generous reward of mentorship that Daniel offered him and others over two decades. Not removed from this painting is a good bigger one, this one rather more conventional in nature. This stunning panorama, Late Afternoon at Cueva is by William Hurley whose work is evocative of nineteenth century American landscape artists like Albert Bierstadt. It is a fantastic distinction to the Scott Greene painting and sets the stage for the dichotomy of New Mexican art that is about to come. Apprentice Elysa Reeves is an aspiring architect, part time student at CNM, and artist. She graduated from ACE leadership high school on the prime of her class and has had her drawings and mannequin buildings on show at working classroom and ACE high school.

Not solely did the city, like El Paso, shock us with its appeal and surprising urbanity, but once once more we we more than a bit impressed by the wonderful Albuquerque Museum. Recently finishing up his bachelor’s degree in arts and architecture, Joshua is now the Lead Apprentice in Harwood Art Center’s Apprenticeship for Arts & Social Justice.
