According to the report Miss Kelly suffered from a number of mental health issues, including the borderline personality disorder such as bulimia, anorexia and bulimia. She also had an history of addiction to drugs and had been a victim of domestic abuse. Stress, anxiety and depression exacerbated her symptoms. She was also diagnosed with bipolar affective disorder as well as schizoaffective disorder.


Elayaperumal claims that Medtronic deliberately denied him a job due to his race and national origin. He claims that his poor performance review in June of 2000 and the denial to award him certain assignments were motivated by racism. However, there is no evidence that Medtronic's decision-making was based on these factors. In addition, Elayaperumal's poor performance review did not lead to any reduction in his salary or benefits, or even his responsibilities.
