Now, as far as mammals and plants go (bananas), sure, if you go back far enough, you will find that they are related. But only if you go back a approx 3 - 2.5 billion years ago. By that time, "animals" would have just consisted of basic multi-celled organisms and "plants" would have just consisted of algae that consumed Cyanobacteria.

Of course, photosynthesising organisms lived before algae...but whatever, my point is that, although technically dogs and bananas are sorta-kinda related, they split billions of years ago, make your satirical objection worthless.
