Japanese Blankets - Practical and Fashionable
Blankets are essential to many homes. They keep us warm and comfortable, add comfort to any space and are an easy way to make any room feel more welcoming. However, not all blankets are made to be the same. Blankets made in Japan have a special characteristic that differentiates them from other blankets. Japanese blankets are designed using the traditional method and highest quality of workmanship. These blankets, constructed from the finest materials in regions where they have been woven for centuries, are functional and stylish. They're a great opportunity to update your home.

In Japanese Blankets to Western blankets, which tend to be heavy and bulky, Japanese blankets are lightweight and designed to sit snuggled on top of a kotatsu, or on couches. They're not just warm and cozy, but they are also soft and comfortable. They are a good option for those who enjoy napping in the middle of the day or to use as a throw for a bed.

The blanket is a significant component of Japanese traditional culture. In Japan, blankets were used for sleeping however, they can also be used in any way that makes you feel comfortable. In the Edo period blankets were popular as a fashion accessory since they were a sign of well-being and health. In actuality, it's not unusual to see children wrapped in blankets when playing or watching television. In the Meiji period, the Western culture spread across Japan and blankets began to be worn as clothes. While going to restaurants and tourist sites it was commonplace to walk around the city wrapped in blankets. When you watch old Japanese dramas, the majority of characters wear the kaka gets.

There are many different kinds of Japanese blankets The most popular are shikifuton and Kakebuton. A shikifuton can be described as a thin mattress (typically three or four inches thick) composed of layers of cotton filled within a cotton cover. When it's time for bed, the mattresses are spread out on the tatami, and then stacked. The tatami mat can be used for many different reasons, and the shikibuton has a chance to dry out.

Kakebutons, on the other hand, is a larger comforter which is either filled with cotton or silk and quilted manually or machine. Silk-made kakebuton are higher in cost, however they are non-allergenic and not hospitable to dust mites. It also helps keep the temperature controlled throughout the seasons.

Modern Japanese Kotatsu are generally located in the middle of the room. It is a great method to stay warm in the winter season, since Japanese homes don't contain as much insulation as Western homes, and heating can be costly for many families. It is particularly useful as it is able to provide warmth without turning on the heater, thus reducing the expense of energy.
