SEC College Football Schedule 2023
College football Week 3 has arrived, bringing with it an array of interesting betting lines and some marquee matches that could determine the fate of various SEC teams.

Last year, Alabama outshone Tennessee and LSU to win its sixth national title under coach Nick Saban and claim the SEC championship game easily. On Nov. 11, they'll meet an in-state rival Auburn.
Tennessee

According to Wednesday's SEC schedule release, Tennessee will face Oklahoma and Alabama away games in 2024, in addition to playing Arkansas, Florida, Mississippi State and Kentucky at home and Vanderbilt. Since 1893, they have competed against Oklahoma 118 times with Tennessee leading 61-57 heading into their annual match-up at Norman. Also renewing rivalries will be Florida Gators who have won six consecutive matches and four titles over time including last season's Capital One Orange Bowl title win.

In 2022, Tennessee defeated Alabama for their first regular-season win since Nick Saban took over at UT. This win helped spark a 13-win campaign that led to their first 10-win season under Josh Heupel and sixth trip to the College Football Playoff.

The addition of Texas and Oklahoma to the Big Ten will alter its landscape significantly when divisional competition is eliminated and College Football Playoff expands from four teams to 16 teams in 2024. Under si college football scores , earning a bye to semifinals becomes increasingly challenging, and only winners of final four will qualify for national title every four years; seeding therefore becomes increasingly vital. 2024 provides Big Ten an opportunity to show its worth as an emerging superconference contender.
Wisconsin

Wisconsin had an exceptional recruiting cycle and are expected to capitalize on that success on the field in 2023. They will face several Power Five opponents early on in a difficult schedule that culminates in a critical game against Iowa that will test how effective Wisconsin's Air Raid offense can perform against physical opposition.

Washington State will present Wisconsin with an intriguing challenge, marking their debut under Luke Fickell at prime-time against an opponent that beat them last season at Madison and being their first nonconference night game since 2016.

Fickell will put his new-look offense through its paces against Iowa and Illinois this season, each time only managing 55 yards rushing each time they faced them last season. It will be crucial for Wisconsin to show that their strength can match up against top defenses if they hope to claim the Big Ten championship.

Wisconsin will then travel to Indiana and host Ohio State, both teams suffering through subpar seasons last year; Northwestern going 1-11 while Indiana lost seven in a row. Wisconsin's coaching staff should use this week as an opportunity to jump start this season quickly.
Texas

Recently, the SEC unveiled kickoff times and TV information for its inaugural four games of 2023. Alabama will open their season at Middle Tennessee on September 2, host South Florida and Chattanooga before closing out at Texas for their last regular-season contest against their archrival. Texas-Alabama rivalry will meet for only the second time ever; their first meeting took place back in 1902 when Texas defeated Alabama 21-13.

Alabama will renew their rivalry with Oklahoma when the Sooners join the conference as members in 2024 and play twice that season, according to Low. Tuscaloosa hosts week two while Dallas hosts week five for their encounter.

Though Saban has long campaigned for an expanded nine-game schedule, the SEC will stick with an eight-game format in 2024. Conference members voted down an amendment adding one game and Commissioner Greg Sankey has made his preference clear "privately" among coaches within the conference for keeping things at eight.

Texas Longhorns non-conference schedule features key match-ups against Baylor and visits from Kansas and Oklahoma - which could prove pivotal given that Bryant-Denny Stadium has had difficulty providing consistent home advantage in recent seasons.
Auburn

Auburn stands as one of the premier programs in college football, drawing fans who are both passionate and loyal. As charter members of the Southeastern Conference, its Tigers compete at the highest levels of intercollegiate athletics; fielding 21 varsity teams within its program with colors orange and blue as their rally cry - "War Eagle!"

The Tigers open their 2018-19 campaign on September 3 against Mercer before facing Utah State, San Jose State and Western Kentucky in consecutive games. Ole Miss and Mississippi State will visit in October before closing out regular-season play against Georgia and LSU before meeting Alabama in an annual Iron Bowl on Thanksgiving weekend.

While many schools pride themselves on traditions that are important to them, none is more beloved than Auburn Tigers and their famous Battle Cry of "War Eagle". Coined at a 1913 pep rally by student Jarious Enslen at an Auburn pep rally when he pointed at an Eagle emblem on his shirt and declared it meant war, this battle cry became part of Auburn culture over time despite various stories explaining how or why.
