Benny The Butcher is an American rapper based in Buffalo. He was signed by Griselda Records as a homegrown signing artist. His music is a sombre and intricate representation of life on the streets.


Long Live DJ Shay is an ode to Buffalo's infamous legend who helped shape the Griselda rappers. El Camino, Rick Hyde, Heem B$F, LoveBoat Luciano and Fuego Base handle much of the tracks on the album, along with Benny, Westside, Conway and more.

Benny, in the five months that have passed since signing his major deal with Def Jam has rubbed elbows with two of the top performers of the moment, Snoop Dogg, and J. Cole. They came together on what may be the biggest hit song of the year, "Johnny P’s Caddy" which is a track from Tana Talk 4, which is a collaboration with J. Cole. If any other artist were to do it the collaboration would be an occasion of pride however, for Benny, it was a period of growth by the tips the two men gave him.

Buffalo native Benny the Butcher is part of the rapper group Griselda as well as Westside Gunn and Conway the Machine, and he is also a member of the Black Soprano Family collective. Benny has had a busy year. He signed a huge deal with Def Jam, and released his fourth album in the Tana Talk series.


Griselda is a huge success due to the late DJ Shay. He played a key role in transforming the group, and its members, into what they are now.
