It doesn't matter if you're an avid fan or simply interested, Meshuggah is one of the most well-known extreme metal bands around. The band has gained millions of fans across the world. The group was founded in Sweden in 1987 by Jens Kidman who sang, Fredrik Thordendal, Marten Hagstrom and Tomas Haake on guitars, Dick Lovgren on bass and drummer Tomas Haake. The band is now famous for its unique musical style, which combines elements of death and thrash with progressive music and jazz fusion. The band has released nine studio albums and six EPs to date. The band's latest album, "Immutable", was released by Atomic Fire Records on April 1st, 2022.
The tenth album released by Swedish DJents MESHUGGAH, is the most ambitious, varied, and peculiar release to this point. The album is the heaviest and most brutal to the present. Although "Immutable" may not be as memorable in the same way as modern classics like "Nothing", or 2005's Tech Psych Odyssey "Immutable" is a must listen for metal fans.
Beginning with ' Meshuggah Stickers ', you're struck by a relentless rhythm, heavy-duty drums, as well as a rumbling bass that makes it sound like a tiny man is trapped in Tomas Haake's screaming skull. The guitar riffs that are more technical and focuses on the subtleties rather than chugs remind you of Meshuggah's 'Nothing time'. The riffs in 'They move below' are head-nodding and the track is more than 10 minutes.
The album ends with a haunting clean guitar outro which gives the listener to reflect on the destruction and chaos experienced over the 67-minute runtime of the album. In the present, the 'Immutable tour is in the midst of. It will include a handful of shows in the US and a performance at Hammerstein Ballroom NYC on May 22nd, as well as some dates in Europe. The tour features the death metal group The Halo Effect as direct support. Scar Symmetry, Orbit Culture and other Swedish heavyweights will be joining The Halo Effect on the tour.
