Genesis 1:2 is the second verse of the Genesis creation narrative. It is a part of the Torah portion Bereshit (Genesis 1:1–6:8). Genesis 1:2 presents an initial condition of creation namely, that it is formless and void, This introduces the rest of the chapter, which describes forming and filling. That is, on the first three days the heavens, the sky, and the land are formed, and they are served on days four to six by luminaries, birds and fish, and animals and man respectively. the word too by itself means "emptiness, futility"; it is used to describe the desert wilderness. Bohu has no known meaning and was apparently coined to rhyme with and reinforce. There is one God who made everything and declared it good. God created humans in his image, male and female, and gave them dominion over the earth. God created a garden in Eden and placed the first humans there, with the Tree of Life and the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. God commanded the humans not to eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil, or they would die. A serpent deceived the woman into eating from the forbidden tree, and she gave some to the man, who also ate. As a result, the humans became aware of their nakedness and hid from God. God cursed the serpent, the woman, and the man, and banished them from the garden, with a cherubim and a flaming sword guarding the way to the Tree of Life. John wrote, "Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One [God] sat on the throne" (Revelation 4:2)."In the Spirit" means receiving divinely inspired visions by which John was transported in his mind's eye. John saw a vision of God in all His glory! John then described the awesome angelic beings that are in attendance at God's throne. John saw "twenty-four elders" "seven Spirits of God" and "four living creatures," all worshipping God. Notice what the 24 elders say as to why they are worshipping God: "The twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 'You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and by Your will, they exist and were created'" (Revelation 4:10-11, emphasis added throughout).
