Chelsea Grin, a deathcore group formed in Utah is consistently making new music since the release of their debut EP Ahaziah in 2007. The group is frequently considered to be akin to bands like Emmure, Whitechapel and Suicide Silence. The band released their debut album Desolation of Eden in 2010 and My Damnation two years later.
Chelsea Grin went back to the studio two years after to record Ashes to Ashes. The album this time was much more focused and showed an change in the style of the band. It was the first time ever in the history of the group that Andrew Carlston did not sing his vocals. He let Pablo Viveros take care of the high-frequency screams and the mid- and low-range growls.
Eternal Nightmare, their fifth album, debuted in the year 2018. chelseagrinmerch is their most ambitious album to date. The album is a ferocious and unforgiving assault on the body. It's well-crafted, nuanced and unifying that few bands can boast of.
Dan Jones produced the record at Electrical Audio, Chicago. It was the final release with the original vocalist Alex Koehler. Tom Barber, the frontman of Lorna shore, took over his role following the release. The new group consisting of four members continues to tour and to compose music. They've toured with Make them Suffer as well as Within the Ruins. They'll be traveling Europe in 2019 in support of Skin Deep. This will be their third time performing in Europe.
