Elayaperumal claims Medtronic discriminated against him intentionally because of his race or nationality. He claims that his poor performance review in June of 2000 and the refusal to grant him certain project assignments were motivated by racism. Medtronic has not provided any evidence that its decisions were based upon these factors. Elayaperumal's lower performance score did not result in a reduction in his compensation or benefits.
