Perhaps this will be the end of textbooks as we have known them. Thanks Joseph for an insightful laying out the arguments for the present. Consider the argument of Richard and Daniel Susskind that what can be parsed into units can and eventually will be the domain of AI.
All the activity, checkpoint exercises are great but it would be easier if the students can print everything. Since it is not easy to print out 500 pages, an appendix section which combines all the printable sections into the appendix would be a great choice. Reading online was easy, although it Real Estate Finance & Investments 16th Edition did not allow for activity working in the activities or assessments. If students were asked to "complete an activity" for submission they would have to print the page , hand write, scan, and submit. The chapters follow the same pattern which allows students to understand the flow of the text.

In page 33 of the PDF version, there is a picture of students participating in a hackathon. Unfortunately, I could not find material where the authors talk about hackathons. Hackathons have become fairly common and are a great way to meet new students and work on cool interesting projects.

It is inclusive of various populations but not research focused. The text is divided in sections with appropriate content such as pre-assessments, excercises, and post assessment included. It would be difficult to use in a group student setting, unless the chapters are completed before class, to then have a discussion in class within small group settings. Topics included are those that will affect any indvidual in a school setting. It focuses on self exploration and how to make the most out of one's own college experiences. It's a text that could be useful with guidance from an instructor, advisor, peer mentor, etc. to assure follow through with some of the topics.
If our program does not adopt this text, I would use it for supplementary readings, exercises, and guidance for creating lesson plans. I didn’t find the text to be culturally insensitive or offensive in any way. I think the text does a good job of discussing the topic of diversity and its benefits, dedicating Section 2 of Chapter 9 to this topic.

Once traditional books are updated, school districts then have to order them and wait for delivery for a new school year. Alternatively, the information in digital textbooks can be refreshed instantly. Students may need to download a new version on their device, but otherwise there is no wait time. Charts were easy to understand and appropriately placed within the explanation of the topic. Moving back and forth between pages or skipping to another chapter was easily accomplished. Breaking the chapter into sections creates a feeling of having accomplished something by completing each section. It could be compared to trying to eat an entire cake at one time or just enjoying the cake one bite at a time.
