1. Jim Carrey spent 92 days wearing the Grinch costume.



Jim Carrey is well known for his role in Bruce Almighty, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Truman Show, but he was a bit more serious when he played The Grinch in 2000. He was required to wear the suit for 92 days, and go through a lot of makeup before transforming into The Grinch, a green-haired evil. Carrey became overwhelmed by the incident that it was able to hire a company that helps train CIA personnel on torture techniques to help him cope.


2. Jack Nicholson and Eddie Murphy both auditioned for the role of The Grinch, but the role was assigned to Carrey.

While the initial Grinch from Dr. Seuss's book How The Grinch Stole Christmas was black with pink eyes, the character was made green for the film adaptation. It was the first time that the character had ever been green.
